Sometimes fairytales DO come true...

I wanted to take a minute to explain why I chose to call our blog "A Dream Come True." For anyone who knows ANYTHING at all about either of our pasts, they've been a little rocky in the love department! While this saying may seem to be child-like to some, it has great depth & meaning to us. I use to always tell people that if I ever had a little girl, I would never let her watch Disney princess movies because they were totally unrealistic. Prince Charming was a joke & there was never any such thing as a "Happy Ending" when it came to love! I have however, amended this statement...I will allow her to watch these movies but I will discuss on a rather frequent basis that in real life, love has its ups & downs. Its really more of a rollercoaster than anything else. I want her to be hopeful, yet realistic. I certainly hope that makes sense!

Anyway, I frequently end conversations with Adam by thanking him for my fairytale & my dream come true. This phrase is also in the lullaby that I sing to Nolin every night as I rock him to sleep. That precious little boy always knows when his favorite line is coming...He picks his head up to look deep into my soul as I sing the words "And when you fall asleep, I whisper I love you...You are my dream come true" before finally drifting off to sleep. And lastly, one of the 1st poems that Adam ever wrote me ends with the very same line...And his poem is what I will leave with you tonight...

I am blessed with the love of a angel,
who's smile is brighter than the sun,
with eyes that sparkle more than any star,
whose kiss is sweeter than the finest of wines
and love more powerful than any drug,
no dream could ever compare to my angel's presents,
nor replace the tenderness of her precious kiss,
for me my angel is a dream come true,
and my love for her will last until the end of time,
I will always cherish the times we have
and hold dear to my heart the linger of her last touch;
until we meet again,
each night I will look at the moon and say
I love you to my angel, and be thankful for my dream come true!
